About Us
We understand that the traditions and knowledge of a culture are encoded and transmitted through language, and through the process of teaching language we are preserving a diverse knowledge-base that is invaluable to us and to future generations. We also understand that children need multilingual skills to thrive in the 21st century global marketplace. We support you in this important role you play as language teachers.
"...In understanding and celebrating unity in diversity, lies our best hope for a sustainable future." (Wollock 2001)

We are dedicated to finding innovative ways to teach languages to
children. Sube has evolved from an after-school language program
developed in 1996 by a
bilingual mother, artist and teacher implementing hands-on methods for
engaging
kids through art and games, to a complete research-based model for language
instruction in diverse classroom environments. We stay up to date
on the latest research and make sure our curriculum is aligned to
national and international standards.
|
When you purchase the Sube materials you become part of our Journey with Sube
project. We travel the world to find the most amazing teachers and
communities dedicated to preserving linguistic and biocultural
diversity. A portion of Sube's proceeds are donated to these unique
schools and organizations. If you know of someone that you would like to
recommend for the Journey with Sube project, please contact us. This section is being developed. Please check back!

We discovered Digital Storytelling as a powerful tool for sharing our language and culture through storytelling. See how this new
medium allows us to capture the stories of our elders, record stories
in native languages, or to
listen to the voices of our youth.
