The Beginner SPANISH for Homeschoolers Curriculum was designed especially for parents that would like to teach Spanish at home or for parents that are leading homeschool groups. The license can not be used for commercial purposes. See terms.

We have adapted the Sube lesson manual for the Homeschool environment. With the Beginner SPANISH Homeschool Curriculum you receive the digital files of all the lesson plans, activities and components. The music DVD/CD must be purchased separately for $11.99 and complements the curriculum. This cost effective version is perfect for parents working with small groups who have time to assemble it all themselves. Just print out the lesson manual, in its entirety or as you need it. Then print, cut and laminate the components themselves as you need them, such as the Flashcards, Bingo cards and Bingo book. Create your own Sube language components and enjoy the benefits of this multisensory curriculum that integrates proven strategies and techniques for teaching a second language to children. This elementary Spanish curriculum includes all the materials you need to teach Spanish to beginning level students. For 30 min. to one hour classes a week the curriculum spans a 2-3 year period. For daily day classes Sube spans one school year. *Homeschool version is not yet available in Intermediate level.

This Home version does not include the School Accountability Pack. If you require evaluation tools, scope and sequence, unit tests and standard alignments we recommend the complete Beginner Spanish Curriculum Kit. The school version also comes with ready-to-go professionally laminated and cut components which becomes more cost effective for schools with large numbers of children using the materials year after year.

Free support means easy implementation The Sube program is self contained and easy to use, but we want to make sure that you have support if you should need it. We understand that learning a new program takes time and we are available to make this transition fast and easy. What activities are included

The Beginner Spanish for Homeshoolers provides PDF files and easy assembly instructions. The pack includes the lesson manual, the activity book, and all the components that you see in the Sube Kit, ready to be printed, laminated, cut and assembled as needed. The music DVD/CD is the only component in the kit that needs to be purchased separately. When you go to order online you will see an option to add the DVD/CD to your cart. Once you click purchase you will receive an email with a link to your pdf file, and your DVD/CD will be shipped via UPS ground.

The Sube Homeschool curriculum includes the following activities:

Beginner Kit Themes

The SUBE curriculum is organized into eight themes/units. The themes for the Level A-Beginner kit are Animals, Food, Home, Verbs, Body, Clothes, Places and Opposites. Woven into these core themes and reinforced hroughout the curriculum are the primary topics; colors, numbers, shapes, the alphabet, and phonics activities. Each SUBE theme integrates a series of multisensory activities that reinforce the vocabulary and skills for that unit. Each theme/unit includes four one-hour lessons. These can be used to teach two 30 minute classes, or a one hour class. For daily instruction the manual includes additional activities that can be added to the basic lesson module.

What They Will Learn

Depending on age, developmental readiness and allocated class time, the Sube curriculum can take students to beginner or early intermediate level proficiency.

Students at the Beginning proficiency level are able to:

• Comprehend high-frequency words and basic phrases in immediate physical, concrete surroundings
• Produce learned words and phrases
•  Use gestures to communicate basic needs
•  Interact with frequently used Spanish print in a limited fashion
•  Demonstrate initial Spanish print awareness
•  Write familiar words and phrases
•  Demonstrate understanding of familiar words, phrases and questions drawn from content areas
•  Follow classroom routines and schedules
•  Express basic personal and safety needs
•  Respond to questions with one- and two-word answers and gestures

Sube Methodology

Sube is a thematic curriculum based on multisensory materials and activities that incorporate successful and research-based teaching strategies to develop comprehension, speaking, reading and writing skills. The Sube methodology provides a balanced curriculum that provides opportunities for each of these skills to be developed simultaneously in a safe and creative environment that nurtures the students confidence, and develops a positive self-esteem around their new language.

The Sube Learning language thru Art, Music & Games program is based on years of research on how to teach a second language effectively in the classroom. It has been field tested successfully in classrooms nationwide during which time we have developed new and excting techniques and strategies that accelerate learning and make the process of teaching and learning a second language easy and fun. Sube incorporates unique activities and techniques based on various language theories and methodologies that have proven successful in second language instruction. In addition, Sube was founded on the valuable lessons learned from children raised in bilingual homes, where the native language and second language are introduced simultaneously.

Sube is foremost based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences developed in 1983 by Howard Gardner, and is strongly influenced by the *Communicative language teachng views which began in Britain in the 1960s. Sube Beginner Homeschool Spanish Curriculum correlates to state and national standards. Even though the homeschool version does not include the ststandards, it is important for you to know that it has been designed and field tested to the highest educational standards.
