We would like to introduce our new Sube Video Tutorial trainings.
There is nothing like a
personal demonstration by the author of the Sube program, Agnes Chavez,
to improve implementation and maximize the effectiveness of your
language program. Now you can have access to these demonstrations on your own time, whenever you need it!
We have recorded a live training
session that took place via Skype with a group of teachers. In the
video you will only see the presenter and you will hear the teacher
responses as she plays the games and demonstrates the activities along
with them. This will make you feel as if you are in the classroom and
the presenter is speaking directly to you. We encourage you to call out
and respond along with them!
Each video segment focuses on a
specific key activity in the Sube curriculum. Since it was recorded as
a full two hour training and then broken up into segments, we suggest
that you view them all in sequence the first time. Afterwards, you can
go to the specific video tutorial to review, and it will make more
sense.
Video Tutorial: Sube Flashcard Game
Intro to Flashcard Game: Introduces how to play the flashcard game. The flashcard game has five versions. Below are some samples from this segment.
Show and Tell: Introduce the flashcards: This activity introduces the core vocabulary with descriptive sentences around each word and using scaffolding clues to develop comprehension skills, without translating.
Dónde Está? Flashcard Game Version#1: Here we begin the Dónde Está? game. This version develops their comprehension of the core vocabulary and descriptive sentences for each word.
Dónde Está? Flashcard Game Version#2: Version#2 is designed to develop comprehension of complete sentences describing the core vocabulary. They will also be able to identify and recall the vocabulary word in Spanish.
Dónde Está? Flashcard Game Version#3: Version#3 now removes the scaffolding clues to fully develop their comprehension skills.
Donde esta? Flashcard Game Version#4: Nowstudentswill be challenged to describe the vocabulary words themselves using the descriptive sentences taught in version#2. Scaffolding is used once again to gently coax the speaking skills.
