In
our search for innovative ways to teach and preserve language and
culture, we happened upon a new technology called Digital Storytelling.
This powerful new media allows anyone, with little computer experience,
to create short 3-4 minute video clips that can be played on a
computer, shared as an email or played on a television. Their power is
in the fact that it is first and foremost, a personal story, realized using
photos, music and your own voice narration. Digital Storytelling can be
a powerful tool in the classroom or at home to preserve oral histories,
develop language skills, educate or raise awareness on community
issues.
In
this section you can see how we use the multimedia process called
Digital Storytelling to help teachers, parents and community leaders in
the process of preserving language and culture. Through a partnership
with the National Hispanic Cultural Center, we provide three-day
workshops where you can learn the process of making a digital story. To learn
more about Digital Storytelling and how it can benefit you click on
About. For workshop information and how to
participate in one of our exciting Digital Storytelling workshops go to
Workshops. We
also offer a free Digital Storytelling curriculum for classroom use. To access go to Curriculum.
